SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY, GET INSIDE THIS MOVEMENT! - PART 1
UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF SUSTAINABLE AND CRUELTY-FREE BEAUTY.

INTRODUCTION

In today's world, designing a sustainable future is a major challenge that needs to be taken very seriously. After all, environmental conservation, combined with the growing concern for physical, mental, and social well-being, is important for all humanity, and addressing the problems and solutions involving this issue is a priority.

These concepts and practices have become essential topics, and as a result, many companies have begun to realize that they are an integral part of, rather than consumers of, the world.

It is from this discourse that "SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY" fits in.

Sustainable Beauty, or Clean Beauty, as some prefer to call it, is associated with a worldview, a philosophy of life. It is awareness with personal care, aesthetics, and hygiene guided by an ecological approach where products are formulated with natural ingredients, cruelty-free, may not have packaging, or are made with recyclable or biodegradable materials. Alongside this, the beauty market has begun a process of significant changes in the sector. See for yourself...

SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY SALON

Sustainable Beauty is a trend that is here to stay. This sector's awareness is gaining momentum rapidly and is very present in some beauty salons and aesthetic clinics. It is a kind of environmentally friendly alternative, as is the case with Beauty Professional, Isa Jung, owner of the Isa Jung Organic Salon, located in St Cruz do Sul — RS, which already invests in this differential in her Sustainable Beauty Salon. Let's learn a little more about Isa Jung's experience and how she has been standing out in the beauty market:

When we created this proposal for the organic salon, we took great care with every detail:

  • All furniture was made from sustainable woods, reused, and restored. For example, a china cabinet ended up becoming a bench for the salon.

  • Waste recycling is carried out in the salon through individual collectors. We have one bin for each type of waste: one for hair clippings, plastic, paper, and organic waste.

  • We adapted a compost bin, where all the leachate is destined for the plants.

  • We have sustainable energy sources and gas washbasins.

  • We adopted a practice of services with less frequent returns, more long-lasting, preserving the naturalness of the hair and producing less waste.

  • The entire team is aligned with the purpose of bringing awareness that we are organic beings in an organic world that needs care and attention.

HOW SUSTAINABILITY CAN ADD VALUE TO THE BEAUTY SALON

Isn't Isa Jung's example cool? It serves as inspiration. Based on her experience, let's see some examples of how sustainability can add value to a Beauty Salon. It's worth reflecting on:

CONSCIOUS AND QUALIFIED TEAM: A team that has environmental management by the organization is motivated to "embrace the cause" and offer qualified service. A relevant strategy that reflects in customer satisfaction and directly in the results of the Beauty Salon.

CUSTOMER LOYALTY: Sustainable practice is a solid foundation. An environment that evokes nature and encourages awareness will delight the customer. Use technology to your advantage, which makes the customer become loyal and recommend your services.

MARKET DIFFERENTIATION: A Sustainable Beauty Salon adds value and offers a significant competitive advantage.

BUSINESS VALORIZATION: Awareness and good practices. Sustainability will always be a growing trend for businesses.

SUSTAINABILITY: The demand for environmental care is growing every day. Some sustainable practices that can be used in the Beauty Salon are: proper waste disposal, use of ecological materials, waste reduction, use of cruelty-free products, water conservation, adoption of a process for reuse, reduction of electricity consumption, adoption of the use of renewable natural energy sources, among others.

COST REDUCTION AND PROFITABILITY: Sustainability is important not only from a social and environmental point of view but also brings economic returns to your business.
